Round 9

Tonight we begin round 9 of chemo.  9 long and arduous months of cytotoxic chemicals being pumped into our little girl...I can't wait for it to be over.  I am counting down already - only 4 more months to go!

The last month has not been too bad.  She did eventually develop a bit of a rash on her face from the chemo, but it was not nearly as bad as I had prepared myself for.  This next cycle is back to some stomach-upsetting stuff, so we're back to anti-nausea meds three times a day, plus two doses of chemo each night.  We're hoping to curb the vomiting before it starts.  Only 4 months to go...

We just keep on going.  Every night, our routine has become one parent makes the chemo (gloves on, crush the pill or get the syringes, fill out the chart) and the other makes the formula (since she still won't eat during the day, she gets most of her nutrition overnight through her NG tube).  It is better than being in the hospital for chemo - much better - but it is still a routine I would prefer to end.

Only 4 more months.

I think how fast the past four months have flown by and hope the next four months do the same for you.
