The Beach

It was foggy, but we finally did it!  We packed up Scarlett and hauled ourselves to the beach.  And let me say, if you've never tried taking a baby to the beach, don't rush - it's not exactly easy with the diaper bag, stroller, towels and sunshade, and sand sticks to babies like crazy!  We didn't realize there was a wine festival going on, so there was no parking and we had to take the free shuttle bus from the parking to the beach.  Just as we got off the shuttle into the bustling street, we realized we had forgotten the diaper bag, so Chris had to go back.  Let's just say that by the time we got all the gear, found a spot and dragged the stroller through the sand, we were already beached out.  Luckily, we were still able to enjoy some time there together.

I have been following your blog for a few months now, my daughter is a little younger than Scarlett. The beach is beautiful...until you have to wipe sand out of every baby crevice! I'm so glad your family got to go spend some "normal" quality time together, it warms my heart. She is so beautiful, we will continue to send you prayers each and every day!

To get sticky sand off a wiggly baby, simply sprinkle baby powder all over, then take a blanket or even your hand and the sand will easily fall off. I hope this helps to enjoy the beach more in the future.

hi i wanted to say that i praise and thank God for parents like you both. I have a son that will be two in december and we took him to the beach this summer. I will have to agree it was CRAZY but in a good way. He was scared of the ocean because of the sound, so congrats to Scarlett for enjoying it!! i also wanted to tell you that Jesus sees you and loves the three of you. Whenever things just seem to get a little too hard, look to Him and He will give you strength, and I know that there are times when you think that life isn't fair, and it isn't but HE will give you the strength and peace to make it through. Thank you for giving your little girl the chance at life she is beautiful. God bless

I love the video. That's so sweet. She's a daddy's girl through and through. And a mommy's girl, too, I'll bet.

Great pics and video! I love the look on Scarletts face in the pic with her feet in the sand, she looks like she's not too sure about this sand stuff. A baby at the beach is sooo much work, congrats on making it out there to enjoy it!
