Nap

Chris, Scarlett and Cosmo are curled up on the couch taking a nap together after Chris' 4am shift today.  They all look very cozy.
Cosmo's head is on a pillow, just as he likes.  Scarlett is bundled up in the new butterfly blankie from the Garretts!
I think I have a whole photo album's worth of shots of them sleeping just like this, yet every time I have to take another picture.  It's just the sweetest thing to me!

I gave her the first shot this morning.  I psyched myself up for it, got all the supplies ready (syringe needle, vial, alcohol swabs, cotton ball) and then got her ready.  We played on the changing table for a few minutes first, and then I just went for it.  I think the cold alcohol swab was the worst part for her.  I ended up having to stick her twice - in my haste to do it as quickly as I could, I didn't actually inject the full dose the first time.  I'll do better tomorrow.  We snuggled for a while after to calm us both; I'm glad she won't remember that I had to do this to her.

We are getting ready for a busy week - 3 appointments, including 2 blood draws, a dose of out-patient chemo and an MRI.

What an adorable picture! I don't think I have ever commented on your blog I have been following for awhile, heard about Scarlett on Babycenter. I always say a little prayer for her everyday for God to watch over her.

This is the sweetest picture. I have followed your blog from the beginning via babycenter and pray for your little family everyday. My church is also lifting you up in prayers. She is a sweet little blessing.

such a beautiful picture. Just remember that you aren't doing it TO her but FOR her. You are trying to help make her better. I hope that your busy week goes well and that you all get to relax this weekend. My prayers are with you.

Beautiful picture, that's definitely one for the baby book.

The first shot is always the hardest. In a week, it will be easier to do and as time goes on, you'll be a pro and she probably won't even notice it. I have a similar picture but instead of a dog, it's a cat. The cat's name is Pharo and she calls him fair-oh but to her all cats are called fair-oh lol.

That picture is precious. I would too take a bookful! They are just too precious to pass up. :-). I'm a may 2010 mama who has been reading daily since the first surgery. I pray for your little girl every day and tell all my friends and family todo the same. Even my husband asks "how's scarlett doing" when he gets home from work. You are a part of our family even if we've never met. Good job with the shots mama!! I give shots (not to my own daughter so I know it's not the same at all) but the above comment is correct... The first few are te worst and it will be a breeze by Friday :-). We will continue to pray. Thank you for your updates.

Love Love love the pic, thanks for sharing. Also, you may want to ask, but I think you shouldn't use the same needle twice, as they dull very easily....I know that from having to give my bunny injections at home, their skin is very fragile and the vet told me that the needle is slightly dulled with each use, and the sharper the better for comfort. No worries, I am sure you will get it down to one stick going forward. And yes, she wont remember :) love from Austin TX

How cozy. Love that Cosmo got in on the action. I have 2 100lb. dogs and they try to cuddle with the little one too! :)

May I just say, I do hope you keep a copy of this blog somehow for her to see when she is either a teen or adult. So she can see just how in love her parents are with her. You both amaze me; she amazes me and everyone! There is no doubt that this beautiful little gift from God has your heart.
