Another Day

We're not leaving any time soon.  It looks like this admission will just run right into the next one, so we may not go home until later next week.

Scarlett is doing well.  She is a bit sleepier than usual, and isn't eating as much as she should.  Some other side effects are setting in; mainly, sores in her mouth and throat.  These have made her little voice gravelly and squeaky.  We have a "magic mouthwash" of Benadryl, Maalox and Lidocaine to alleviate any pain, but we haven't seen any in her mouth that we can reach with it yet.  Last time, these sores cleared after a day or two, so hopefully she's already through the worst of it.
Now, I am just managing my own boredom.  I have watched a ton of movies (just flipped to the new parent Trap and can't believe how Lindsay Lohan used to look...) Thank goodness I have this laptop.

Hospital stays can get EXTREMELY long! Can you imagine life before all this portable technology? Yikes! We hope that Scarlett feels better soon. Wishing you all the best!

Oh, boy. Sorry you maybe won't get to go home until after the next round! I'm glad you and Chris and Scarlett are handling it well. You're in my thoughts!

Sending lots and lots of prayers your way. I have spent lots of time in the hospital with my son Sam. I used to get super bored too. There is only so much you can do on the computor.... if you google "free brain games" there are some good games to exercise your brain. Also not sure if you like to read, but I recently read some amazing books while my son spent time recuperating from surgery, the best one was "Choosing to SEE" by Mary Beth Chapman. A total tear jerker but a truth life inspiring story of faith triumphing over tragedy (this is Steven Curtis CHapman's wife) and I could recommend more if you are interested:-) Virtual scrapbooking is time consuming too:-)

^^^Great suggestions :) The virtual scrapbooking is wonderful, because you'll be passing time AND getting something done that I'm sure you'll wish you had as she gets older :) Just wanted to send my love to the three of you, and let you know that I don't post often any more, but I check for updates every day and the three of you are always in my prayers and in my heart. Still super proud of your beautiful little butterfly, she's amazing and so are her parents <3 <3 <3

Hi~ I just wanted to say that I've been following your family's story for a couple of months now, and continue to send up prayers for Scarlett. Everything my heart wants to say to you, from one mother to another... it all comes out wrong, so I'll just leave it at that-- I'm praying.

Try Picnik to do the digital scrapbooking. Definitely a time eater. Another time passer is researching geneology. Ancestry.com will give you a free 14 day trial. May help take your mind off some stuff. Hugs!
