Contributions

Hello to all,

So many people have asked how they can help us.  By this, we are so touched and greatly encouraged.

Initially, we set up this blog to share our story and experience, as a cathartic release for the tension and shock.  As such, we didn't really have a plan in place for how others could donate to us, though we do have a great need.

So now, we have up a donate button through PayPal for those who want to contribute.  A couple of notes about this:

We are not a non-profit, though we are working in the future to be covered under the umbrella of a non-profit.

Secondly, we want to offer you our assurances that all money will be used judiciously for Scarlett's care and comfort.  If there is any money left over that isn't needed in this way, we intend to donate it to a non-profit charity.  When we get to that point we'll certainly communicate all of this.

In just two weeks, we have surpassed 100,000 views.  Your prayers, thoughts and support are the bright spot in our days.  Thank you so much.

~Chris, Brandi and Scarlett

Im so glad you did this, I know many of us really want to help in anyway we can. And the last thing you need is to worry about money during this time.

Hey guys. I saw your post last night and put it on facebook so all my friends could read your story and pray for Scarlett. My daughter is 4 months old and i cannot imagine what you are going through right now. I cried all night after reading this blog and prayed off and on all day today. Praying for a miracle, and soon!

I too am from Baby Center's April 10 birth board and have been praying for your little girl and your family since hearing your story. With so many views you might consider adding ads to your blog(adsense) I'm sure at this point that every little bit helps.

Thank you for giving us a way to send some monetary support for Scarlett in addition to our thoughts and prayers. We are all praying for a miracle for you this week. Please don't hesitate to let us know what we can do for you. Many of us you don't know personally, but it has been my experience that humans are remarkable creatures who have a habit of banding together to make the impossible possible where there is a great need. You might be alone on this particular path but know that you are never alone on the journey. Lots of love to your little girl. xoxo

Thank you for setting this up! I know as the news has teavelled to all your old friends the most common question is how can we help... You two are so amazing and strong! I know there are a lot of people who are proud of the parents you've become in such a short time! Anything you may need, don't hesitate ;) you are in my prayers and good vibes every day! It's inspiring to read your words and your thoughts- you have a huge team rooting for a quick recovery! Go team butterfly!

I am from the BBC July 19 board, and it makes me so sad for what you are going through! I thought it was rough wnen my son was born with grastroschisis and needed surgery, but I often said that I wouldn't have traded places for many in the NICU. I am sorry that you have to go through this, but I do believe that things happen for a reason and make us stronger. I did make a small contribution to help with your bills. I hope you have all that you need, including prayers!
